A couple of weeks ago I posted some swatches of Chantecaille's Ecstasy blush and promised to post a photo to show what the shade looks like on. It's taken me a while to post a picture because as I've mentioned before, my camera's old and doesn't seem to cooperate when it comes to taking face photos. If I'm honest, I also feel a little bit awkward/self conscious about posting face pictures for some reason too.
Anyway, here's what the colour looks like in the pan
And this is what it looks like applied
It looks quite bright and scary in the pan, but the shade is quite delicate and subtle when it's applied with a light hand. As I mentioned in the original post, the formula is beautiful. It's soft and silky, incredibly easy to blend and creates a natural, non powdery finish. I already have a couple of other shades on my wish list but a Lip Chic is definitely the next thing I'll be trying from the brand. Do you have any recommendations/favourite shades?
Oh my. Everything about that blush is simply gorgeous! It adds the most lovely rosy glow to your skin - I think this is one I'm definitely going to have to investigate in store...!
ReplyDeleteAs for Lip Chic there are so many great colours. I'm pretty hooked on Geranium as it's so easy to wear, but it's not the most adventurous of shades.

Ecstasy looks absolutely perfect on your skin! I loved your last review so much I ordered it for myself. I haven't worn it yet, but seeing it swatched next to Bobbi Brown Pale Pink (a favorite) and seeing that it looked like an even more natural flush completely sold me. I can't wait to try it, but I've been waiting for good weather on a day I'm at home to swatch it and try it out. Lovely on you!
ReplyDeleteFor Lip Chic recommendations, based on your skin tone and what I think are your preferences (you like more pigmented, yes?), I'd consider the following:
- Dahlia, a sheer, clear red that leans blue (My #1 Lip Chic)
- Damask, a clear deep blue-red plum
- Heirloom, a mid-toned plum tamed by a hint of brown
- Tea Rose, a deep rosy brown (MLBB shade)
Hope that helps!
I also have Zinnia Lip Chic, which is a cool coral rose, but if your lips are pigmented, it might be too natural a look for you--not enough punch. I never bothered with the lighter colors. As gorgeous as they are, they'd be a waste on my rosy-mauve lips. My face looks best with a hit of color, and I think yours does, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous blush color!! This is a PERFECT example of never judging a book by its cover. It looks amazing on you

It looks gorgeous on you Nat!!! :)
ReplyDeleteBeauty Bite, Thank you for commenting! The colour is gorgeous, you should definitely check it out. Thank you for the Lip Chic recommendation too, Geranium does look lovely in the swatches I've seen. I think it might be slightly too pale/light for my pigmented lips, but I'll check it out anyway when I pop in to Space NK x
ReplyDeleteZuzu, thank you so much for taking the time to write the reply, it really does help a lot! I do prefer more pigmented colours so will definitely go with one (or two!) of the shades you listed. Dahlia or Tea Rose are the colours which appeal to me the most from your descriptions. Zinnia also sounds lovely, but as you said, may be too sheer.
Ecstasy does look surprisingly natural on and does leave skin with a beautiful flushed look. Really looking forward to reading your review on it! x
Christina, it is pretty! I normally stick to more natural looking blush shades, but I'm really glad I ordered Ecstasy. It turned out to be a lot more natural and wearable than I thought it would be x
ReplyDeleteVintage, Thank you! :) x
That is really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat looks gorgeous on you!! I really need to explore Chantecaille more!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's so pretty!!! You have beautiful clear complexion, and love your 'no make-up, make-up' look in this photo! Wish I could pull this off too :)! xoxo
ReplyDeleteyou need tea rose :)
ReplyDeleteNat, you are so beautiful! I love the look of that blush- so subtle and pretty. I have a few of the shadows(that I need to dig out because they are very pretty). I can't wait to see what Lip Chic you end up with. Once again, lovely! x
ReplyDeleteDelicate is the perfect word. You look SO beautiful! This blush brings warmth to your eyes.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blush color on you! I just picked up a bronzer from the line and the texture of these products is amazing! Great photo!
ReplyDeleteNat, it looks gorgeous - in the pan AND on you! Such a lovely colour.
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mind but I had to tag you with this award: http://beautyreductionista.blogspot.com/2011/06/tagged-again-versatile-beauty-blog.html
it's so delicate on you!! and your face is just perfect..!!
ReplyDeleteArtDonatella, It's really not. The Clarins Everlasting foundation I'm wearing covers a lot! ;) and you could definitely pull off the no make-up look. You have a gorgeous face and lovely skin too!
ReplyDeleteluv2smilexo, I know! I'm still debating on whether I should get Dahlia or Tea Rose first. If they weren't so expensive, I'd definitely be getting both.
MM, Thank for the kind comment :) You really should dig them out, would love to see some swatches! I've been drooling over Karla Sugar's swatches of the shadows actually, there are so many beautiful shades.
productdoctor, The bronzer looked gorgous in your photo. Can't wait to read your review on it and see some swatches!
Liz, I already replied/commented on your blog, but thanks again for the award and for your very kind comments :)
