Quick Review: Soap & Glory Hand Food & Heel Genius

Just thought I'd write a quick post on a couple of little gems I've discovered from the Soap & Glory range recently. I've heard lots of great things about the brands bath, body and skincare products over the past few months, but only actually got round to trying a few items from the range fairly recently. I picked up a couple of skincare products, which I'd read positive reviews on, and I also grabbed a hand cream (Hand Food) and a foot cream (Heel Genius), which I thought I'd write a post on.

Hand Food

Soap & Glory Hand Food
First up is the brand's hand cream,  which is described as a non greasy hand cream enriched with shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow.

Now I've tried quite a few different hand creams which claim to be non greasy, but most of them seem to leave some sort of residue behind, which I personally really dislike. I'm happy to report that Hand Food is, as Soap & Glory promise, non greasy. It feels quite light, smells delicious and soaks in really quickly. It does a great job at hydrating and soothing hands and cuticles and the lovely smell lingers for quite a while after I've applied it too. I wouldn't say it's the most "Astonishing" hand cream I've tried, but it does do what it promises and it's a pleasure to use.

It's quite reasonably priced at £2.35 for a 50ml tube, too!

Heel Genius

Next up is the brand's foot cream, which is described as a miraculous moisturising mix and contains Allantoin, Glycerin, Macadamia oil and orange and lemon fruit acid to soften and smooth.

Like Hand Food, it has quite a light texture and it smells amazing. It's kind of fresh and fruity, but slightly sweet and really lingers after it's been rubbed in. I apply quite a generous amount of the blue cream each evening and I find it sinks in really fast, and like the hand cream, it doesn't feel greasy or oily. It softens and hydrates well and leaves my feet feeling smooth and lovely and soft.

It's not the most intensive foot moisturiser I've tried and I still use a foot oil a couple of times a week, but it's great as an in between cream to maintain softness and hydration. It costs £5.11 for a 125ml tube, which I think is a bit of a bargain. Soap & Glory products are currently on a 3 for 2 offer at Boots too.

Overall, I'm really quite pleased with both of my Soap & Glory purchases. They both work well and they both smell lovely. The only thing I'm not particularly fond of, is the busy, pink packaging, but as long as the goodies on the inside work, I'm not too bothered about the colour of the tubes.

Have you tried either of these? What do you do you think of them?
Are there any hero products from the brand that I need to try?

  1. I like Hand Food, it's a great budget hand cream but for some reason I just don't buy it that often and always seem to pick something else! Haven't tried any other S&G products but the foot cream sounds good :)

  2. Y'see, with the terrible state of my poor old heels, I really need a VERY INTENSIVE product for my feet. Any tips?

  3. Hand Food is a good hand cream. I have used it in the past but, for some reason, haven't repurchased. Think it's because I tend to use body butters on my hands. I like a good, multi tasking lotion!

Have you tried any of Soap & Glory's body scrubs? They're fabulous, esp. their Breakfast Scrub - very yummy and nicely gritty :-)

  7. Evelyn - I don't usually stick with certain hand creams either, I like to try different products. I really do like this one though, mainly because of the lovely scent!

Emma - I find using a foot file and scrub (Liz Earle's is nice) a few times a week keeps mine in pretty good shape. I also find oils hydrate much better than most creams. I'm using Elemis fragipani at the moment, but Maragaret Dabbs is excellent!

Miss A - So do I. I really can't stand any sort greasiness or residue on my hands though, so I find hand creams work better for me.

I haven't tried any of the S&G scrubs, will have to check out the Breakfast scrub you mentioned. Thanks for the rec! :)

Larie - Yep, apparently the root of the marshamllow plant has emollient properties and is used to treat skin problems! :D

Lizzy - It is really nice stuff!

VijiiS - Oooh, really? I might have to check that one out too.

Thanks for your comments everyone! x

  9. Should definitely give Hand Food a try!!!

I am using Soap & Glory's Flake Away, Body Gel and Body Butter and I LOVEEEEE all of them! They smell so gooooood!! Flake Away is an awesome exfoliator, which leaves your skin moisturised after! I am going through my second tub now! :)

  10. I've tried many different belly creams and stretch mark prevention products and this is by far my favorite. It's a little pricey but I figure it's worth it. I'm currently pregnant w/ twins and rub this in every night and most mornings. I also use the belly oil. It smells great and absorbs quickly. No greasy feeling.
